I recently (over the last year) have been experiencing an oily scalp after about 4-5 days after flat ironing it. It gets so oily the hair clumps together and it looks bad wearing it down. I’m used to being able to straighten my hair and leave it straight without it getting greasy for 2-3 weeks. What am I doing wrong? *For reference I’m black with 3C curl with medium density.

Hey!! 😊 So I have been natural for 4 years and I did my own "silk press" on my hair twice and it frizzed up after 2 hours . My daughter said it could be because my hair is not use to being straight. I think it's products or temperature. I need help. What can I do to keep it straight without frizzing up. By the way love your content 💕

1. Split into 1/3 & 2/3 2. Wrap the 1/3 (smaller) hair around the 2/3 (bigger hair) 3. Hold as three evenly sized strands 4. Pinch the middle strand 5. Place directly on the hair and pull a third of your natural hair from the head 6. With the braiding hair placed flush to the scalp, pinch the natural hair and braiding hair together 7. Do this again with another piece of hair (left under the middle) 8. Do the same with the last bit of hair (reach under from the left, holding both strands at once and pulling the bottom to the left), securing the braid carefully NOTE: hands flat close to the scalp 9. Braid down an inch or so before flipping your hands NOTE: periodically draw your hands thru the hair to ensure the braids aren’t knotting up 10. Braid down to the bottom

I’ve been on a journey of learning to properly take care of my natural hair. So the couple of times in a year that I might need to blow dry and flat iron it, it helps to know the proper techniques. You are so on time. I recently had knee replacement surgery. I have been doing my impression of Ciely with these braids. I have taken this time to do some deep conditioning while my hair is resting and waiting for meds to exit my system. By the end of July, I'm going to flat iron my hair and return to normal ( thanks for the flat iron suggestion, I've been searching for a good one). This technique will be followed to the minute. Thank you Linwood, you always come through when needed.
